'Won't play against India...' Pakistan's drama continues ahead of T20 World Cup, Sri Lanka's appeal ineffective

 The Pakistani government has denied its team permission to participate in the T20 World Cup group match against India. Pakistan's decision has caused a stir within Sri Lankan cricket. Sri Lanka has urged the Pakistani government to reconsider its decision.

Sri Lanka Cricket (SLC) has appealed to the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) to reconsider its decision to boycott the T20 World Cup match against India.According to reports, the SLC wrote a formal letter to the PCB, stating that canceling this major match between the two arch-rivals could result in significant financial losses. The match is scheduled to be played on Sunday, February 15th at the R. Premadasa Stadium in Colombo. 

The final decision rests with the government: PCB

PCB sources told the Hindustan Times, "We have received a letter from Sri Lanka Cricket,but we cannot overturn the government's decision. The final decision rests with the government." Sri Lanka Cricket has warned that if Pakistan does not participate in the match, it will have wide-ranging consequences, including significant financial losses for the SLC and a potential loss of tourism revenue.
