In this intense match, Gunther, known as the Ring General, forced Cena to tap out. This shocked everyone in the arena. This was the first time in nearly 20 years that Cena had tapped out in a match, which angered the fans present in the arena.



It was a night of celebration for WWE, as some of John Cena's greatest foes, including Kurt Angle, Mark Henry, and Rob Van Dam, were present at ringside, along with WWE Hall of Famers Michelle McCool and Trish Stratus. The crowd was desperately trying to get the World Champion back in the match. Cena then went into "Super Cena" mode. He made a comeback with another Five-Knuckle Shuffle and an AA. Cena went for the pin, but Gunther kicked out at two. He then applied a sleeper hold, nearly knocking Cena unconscious.
