The BCCI has directed Shah Rukh Khan's IPL team Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) to remove Bangladeshi player Mustafizur Rahman from the team following calls for his removal due to the ongoing violence against minority Hindus in Bangladesh.
BCCI Secretary Devajit Saikia said that in light of recent developments, the board has directed KKR to release Mustafizur. If the franchise requests a replacement player, they will be granted permission.
Rahman's participation in the IPL is being opposed amid ongoing violence against Hindus in Bangladesh, where three Hindus have been murdered in the last 14 days. IPL 2026 will begin on March 26, with the league's final match scheduled for May 31.
