Shubman Gill Joins Team India: Indian T20 vice-captain Shubman Gill has returned to Team India. He was out of the team due to injury. However, he has joined Team India ahead of the first T20I in Cuttack. Shubman Gill arrived in Bhubaneswar at 9 pm on Sunday. Gill's arrival in Bhubaneswar makes it clear that he may be seen playing in the first T20I on December 9th.


Gill ready to return after injury

Shubman Gill suffered a stiff neck during the first Test against South Africa in Kolkata , forcing him to withdraw from the team. The injury ruled him out of both the Test and ODI series. He was also selected for the T20 series, but was told he would be available to play only if he was fit.

The silver lining for the Indian team is that Gill passed his fitness test at the BCCI's Center of Excellence. He met all the fitness criteria. Team India head coach Gautam Gambhir also confirmed Gill's fitness after the final ODI in Vizag. Gambhir stated that Shubman is fit, which is why he was selected. He added that Gill is not only ready to play but also hungry for runs.

The players reached Bhubaneswar by chartered flight from Vizag.

Shubman Gill arrived in Bhubaneswar at 9 pm on Sunday for the first T20. However, many Team India players had already arrived there. The T20 players who were part of the ODI squad also arrived in Bhubaneswar on Sunday morning via a chartered flight from Visakhapatnam.


Hardik Pandya did closed door practice

Hardik Pandya was reportedly among the first Indian players to arrive in Bhubaneswar. According to local media reports, he also practiced at the Barabati Stadium in Cuttack on Sunday evening. Interestingly, Pandya practiced behind closed doors.
